Rem (レム Remu)

Is the care Shinigami Death Note Misa.  Unlike Ryuk, knows a lot about the rules of the Shinigami and looks much smarter.

For a long time, Jealous, another Shinigami, he spent his time observing the human world, a woman (Misa Amane), who was in love.  A curious Rem had given the girl's life, which one day was going to be killed by a man who wanted to date her.  Jealous is then that kills the murderer of Misa, and immediately dies Shinigami.

Rem sends one of his Death Note to the human world, but she accidentally dropped as did Ryuk, but given directly to Misa Amane.  This having the Death Note Kira decides discover who, because he was very grateful because he believed that it was he who saved the day for her attacker.

Rem has great love for Misa, which he inherited from the previous owner of the Death Note, Jealous. He died when he realizes the true intentions of Kira (Light), then uses his Death Note to kill Watari and later to L, so doing so is protecting Misa and signing his death warrant.
